About Me

I am a PhD student who has joined the Centre for Digital Music (C4DM), which is in the Electronic Engineering and Computer Science Department at QMUL. I have been conducting doctoral research co-supervised by Prof Elaine Chew and Dr Mathieu Barthet, as part of the Music Performance and Expression Lab (MuPaE). Before that, I received a Bachelor of Engineering in Electronic Information Engineering from Shandong University, China, in 2015, where I conducted research on bioacoustics with Dr Xin Ma.

My current research interests include Affective Computing, Sentiment analysis, Time series analysis and Alternative data research. My doctoral research focused on time-varying music perception from the audience during the live performance, and I am wondering to what extent that individual emotional response is explainable and predictable. The related work has been presented at the Audio Mostly conference, the International Conference of the Society of Music Information Retrieval (ISMIR), the Society for Music Perception and Cognition (SMPC) conference, the International Symposium on Computer Music Multidisciplinary Research (CMMR).
